Family Law Clerk
What You’ll Do:
As an essential member of our family law team, you will:
- Draft, prepare, and review legal documents including affidavits, pleadings, disclosure briefs, and financial statements.
- Handle full-cycle trial preparation: organize exhibits, coordinate timelines, and prepare counsel for court.
- Manage and maintain client files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality at every stage.
- Coordinate court filings (including e-filing) and track filing deadlines in compliance with Family Law Rules and Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff professionally and empathetically.
- Transcribe legal correspondence (letters, memos, documents), and manage/close files.
- Schedule and manage calendar obligations for assigned lawyer(s) including meetings, court dates, and deadlines.
- Support general administrative tasks including photocopying, filing, binding, and related duties to keep the practice running smoothly.
What You Bring:
We’re looking for a confident, detail-driven professional with:
- A Law Clerk Diploma and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Family Law.
- Comfort with a hybrid schedule that is 4 days in person and 1 remote each week.
- Strong working knowledge of Family Law Rules and Rules of Civil Procedure, including all key filing deadlines.
- Proficiency in essential legal software including DivorceMate, PC Law or Soluno, Worldox, Microsoft Word, Adobe, and CaseLines.
- A solid understanding of court procedures and experience dealing directly with clients and legal professionals.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills—able to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
- A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
