We are seeking a Cash Receipts and Trust Coordinator eager to learn in a fast-paced environment. This role provides overall firm support by processing all incoming payments, working with the collections team to navigate payment allocation concerns, and providing updates to firm members related to incoming payments.
The ideal candidate will have a high level of organization skills, a keen attention to detail, strong customer service skills, and basic knowledge of accounting principles. The candidate must be able to work independently and in a team environment. This will be a great opportunity for a recent Accounting graduate looking to gain experience on the finance team.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processing incoming wire payments, EFT, cheque, incoming e-transfers, cash and credit card transactions
- Monitoring incoming client remittance notices and requests
- Investigating and resolving unidentified payments, overpayments and short payments
- Resolve any discrepancies with respect to misapplied payments
- Daily, weekly and monthly reporting and reconciliations on General and Trust receipts
- Administering client payment reconciliations as needed
- Update firm members on a timely basis
- Respond to queries from firm members and external clients in a prompt and professional manner
- Resolve duplicate payments with clients
- Adhering to Law Society regulations with respect to Trust transactions
- Investigating and liaising with Partners/Lawyers/Case Analysts and the finance team on aged Trust receipts
- Other duties as required

Skills and Qualifications:
- College diploma in accounting or business with a basic knowledge of accounting principles
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with other Firm members and provide outstanding client service
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
Green and Spiegel reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.
- $50,000 – $65,000 per year
