Intermediate/Senior Bookkeeper
About the Firm
We are a growing and entrepreneurial law firm seeking a confident, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to oversee and manage all financial operations of the firm. This is not a transactional bookkeeping role — we are looking for someone who wants to take ownership.
The ideal candidate has prior experience in a law firm environment, understands the unique compliance requirements surrounding trust accounting, and is motivated to build and strengthen financial systems in a growing practice.
This role requires someone who can execute the firm’s daily financial responsibilities with precision while also taking ownership of the broader financial picture — ensuring compliance, improving processes, and helping build a scalable financial foundation for long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily financial operations, accounts receivable, reconciliations, maintaining organized, audit ready financial documentation.
- Compliance when managing the trust account
- Managing retainers, trust transfers
- Tax and regulatory responsibilities, payroll remittance, source deductions
- Financial reporting on the firms performance
- Monitoring cash flows
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Prior bookkeeping experience of 3-5 years
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Cosmolex, and Excel
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
- Experience preparing for or participating in trust audits
