The De-Escalate Workshop focuses on the power of attunement and empathy to manage angry or intimidating individuals in the workplace. With a warmth and wit that have become her trademark, Jennifer Kolari teaches participants conflict management and techniques for calming others, while remaining relaxed and confident. Non-verbal behaviour, the power of emotions, and their effect upon relationships will also be explored.
Jennifer Kolari, Social Worker
Jennifer Kolari is well-known in Canada and the U.S. for her creative, dynamic and unique approach. She is a therapist in private practice in Toronto and offers individual and marital therapy, as well as other coaching and group therapy. She also teaches and is a sought-after speaker at schools, organizations and agencies across Ontario and Southern California.
Before establishing her private practice, Jennifer worked for many years at Integra, a Children’s Mental Health Centre in Toronto, as a Family Therapist, supervisor of the Summer Day Treatment Program and as the Coordinator for the Collaborative Project for Young Offenders. She was also with the Toronto District School Board for several years where she counseled children and families, worked on the Tragic Events team and provided workshops to parents and teachers. In addition she taught students and coordinated their placements at the Toronto District School Board for the University of Toronto Faculty of Social Work.
