Our clients include sponsors and administrators of some of the largest pension and benefits plans in the private, broader public and public sectors in Canada, and we also advise employers with employees across the country. We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Senior Legal Assistant.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a highly organized and proactive Senior Legal Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a busy professional services environment and takes pride in providing top-tier administrative and legal support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize electronic files, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality, including opening/closing files.
- Provide administrative and legal support to lawyers, including drafting correspondence and preparing legal documents.
- Oversee calendar management, coordinate meetings, and handle direct client communication for scheduling calls and appointments.
- Liaise with clients, outside vendors, and other legal professionals in a professional manner.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and other legal materials.
- Support billing and time entry processes as needed.
- Other administrative and clerical tasks as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- A university or college degree in business administration or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 10 years experience as a Legal Assistant, preferably in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) and legal practice management software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
