Key Responsibilities
Client Support & Case Management
- Be a helpful, compassionate point of contact for clients.
- Schedule meetings, organize witness attendance, and respond to client inquiries.
- Manage deadlines, track key dates, and maintain efficient workflow.
- Draft client correspondence, including retainer confirmations, disclosure requirements, and summaries of court outcomes.
Legal Document Preparation & Court Filings
- Assist in preparing essential family law documents (e.g., Financial Statements, Net Family Property Statements, Conference Briefs, Affidavits).
- Help prepare motion and appeal materials that meet court requirements.
- Coordinate with court agents to ensure timely service and filing.
- Conduct legal research and retrieve records as needed.
Administrative & Professional Support to Lawyers
- Keep case files organized and up to date with pleadings, motions, exhibits, transcripts, and more.
- Assist with trial preparation, including gathering documentary evidence and scheduling mediation or judicial dispute resolution.
- Conduct conflict searches, open/manage files, and follow client identification procedures.
- Support billing and timekeeping using Divorcemate and LEAP.
- Draft, proofread, and edit legal documents and correspondence while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
What We’re Looking For
- Strong knowledge of family law processes and legal documentation
- Experience using DivorceMate, Microsoft Word, and Adobe; LEAP is a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Sharp attention to detail and solid problem-solving skills
- A friendly, proactive team player who’s eager to learn and contribute.
