Project Coordinator
Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s largest and most successful law firms, is currently looking for a Project Coordinator to join the Innovation department in the Toronto office.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution of the Innovation team’s initiatives. The incumbent coordinates timelines, liaises with vendors and supports lawyers and staff in the adoption and use of the Firm’s technology tools. The role provides exposure to legal technology, artificial intelligence (AI) adoption and Firm-wide strategic initiatives while ensuring projects remain organized, on track and effectively supported.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Tracking and coordinating multiple concurrent projects across the Innovation team, including maintaining project plans, timelines and status reports
- Acting as a day-to-day point of contact for technology vendors, including scheduling calls, tracking deliverables and following up on action items
- Supporting the rollout of new tools and platforms (e.g. AI tools, document review software, workflow platforms) by helping coordinate training sessions, communications and adoption tracking
- Maintaining project documentation, meeting notes and trackers so initiatives stay organized and stakeholders stay informed
- Coordinating logistics for pilots, demos and testing new technology with lawyers and staff
- Monitoring and helping manage project budgets and vendor contracts and renewals in coordination with the Innovation lead
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- University degree in business, technology, information systems, project management or a related field
- Minimum of one to three years of relevant experience in project coordination, administration, operations or similar support role
- Experience working in a professional services, legal or other client-service environment is an asset
- Exposure to legal technology, AI, innovation initiatives or technology-related projects is an asset
- Knowledge of project management principles and methodologies is an asset
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with lawyers, business professionals, vendors and other stakeholders
- High attention to detail, with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, gather information and support resolution efforts
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively as part of a collaborative team
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment and a proactive approach to work
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, software platforms and processes
- Passionate about legal technology, AI, innovation and the evolving delivery of legal services
Compensation
The anticipated annual salary for the Project Coordinator position is $65,000 - $75,000. Salary levels will be determined commensurate with internal equity, market equity and experience.
