Labour Law Clerk (Hybrid Office/Remote)

We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented Law Clerk with a passion for social justice to join our team.
Key responsibilities
- Draft, format, and proofread correspondence, pleadings, sworn statements, and other legal documents.
- Draft, prepare, and file applications, responses, and related materials before administrative tribunals and arbitrators, including unfair labour practice complaints, grievance referrals, certification applications, and human rights applications.
- Prepare and organize hearing materials, books of documents, arbitration/mediation briefs, and supporting evidence.
- Manage scheduling for hearings, mediations, and meetings.
- Monitor deadlines and ensure timely submission of materials to tribunals.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as billing support, document management, and internal file management.
- Liaise with clients, opposing counsel, arbitrators, and administrative tribunal staff by phone and email throughout all stages of a matter.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least two years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Law Clerk in labour law.
- Experience in employment law, human rights law, civil litigation, or professional discipline practice areas is an asset.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands, manage workload, and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of Ontario administrative law procedures, including experience with the OLRB and HRTO.
- Client-service oriented, with good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in legal document preparation and formatting, with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment, both remotely and in person.

Compensation
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience along with a comprehensive benefits plan including health, dental, and short- and long-term disability insurance as well as RRSP matching.
The starting salary range for this position is negotiable and depends on experience. The usual range is between $60,000 and $85,000. Staff are eligible for annual salary increases and bonuses. Applicants with significant seniority and experience will be eligible for compensation above the posted salary range, commensurate with their work history and qualifications.
Our office is located close to transit hubs, including GO Transit, the TTC, and Bike Share.
