Position Overview:
As a Litigation Assistant at Crawley MacKewn Brush, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal team in the litigation process. You will be responsible for providing administrative assistance, managing case files, and ensuring smooth communication between work teams, lawyers, and the court. This position is ideal for someone with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Case Management
- Assist lawyers in organizing and maintaining files.
- Manage and update the firm’s case management system.
- Ensure all legal documents are accurately filed and stored.
Document Preparation

Draft and proofread legal documents.

Prepare and update briefs and other court documents, correspondence and administrative materials for lawyer review and upload documents for court filing.
- Prepare, serve, and file pleadings and motion/application records and perfect appeals.
- Compile affidavit of documents, arrange discoveries and serve notices of examinations.
- Organize and compile exhibits and evidence.
- Prepare and send correspondence to opposing counsel.
Administrative Support
- Manage new business intake, conduct conflict check and follow firm internal file opening standards.
- Schedule, monitor and maintain calendars and meeting deadlines.
- Follows up on actions required to manage lawyer’s practice.
- Manage lawyer calendars, organize meetings, communicate with clients, and assist with timekeeping, as necessary.
- Soluno: opening/closing client files, entering dockets, preparing expense reports
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a similar role within a legal environment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of civil litigation practice and procedures, including the Rules of Civil Procedure and legal terminology.
- Proficiency with legal and business technology, including Microsoft Office Suite, iManage, Soluno, and other relevant software, with the ability and willingness to learn new systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with lawyers, clients, and colleagues.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
- Collaborative, team‑oriented approach, with a demonstrated commitment to supporting colleagues and contributing to shared goals.
- High degree of discretion and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
