Law Clerk - Corporate Immigration & Global Mobility Practice
Littler LLP, the largest global employment and labour law firm is seeking a full time Law Clerk to work in our Toronto office’s Immigration Practice Group. This position will appeal to candidates who thrive in a high‐performance culture, supporting a fast‐paced, established Immigration practice. Experience in work permit and permanent residence applications is essential. This is a hybrid position based in Toronto.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for providing support for a fast-paced, established immigration practice.
- Initiates cases based on instructions from lawyers.
- Determines any status issues and escalation of issues to lawyers.
- Corresponds with clients to obtain necessary information and documents to maintain case integrity.
- Obtains the necessary documents to support applications, which may include legal research.
- Assists lawyers in preparing various correspondence to clients and government agencies.
- Prepares immigration forms, support letters and implements the appropriate immigration processes.
- Coordinates with administrative agencies, and service upon other parties.
- Timely and properly file documents and associated materials in firm's filing system.
- Maintains contact lists.
- Monitors deadlines and updates lawyers as needed.
- Creates and maintains new client matters within firm standards.
- Identifies, monitors, and executes tasks related to case timelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Candidates should possess a minimum of four years' corporate immigration experience.
- Experience in work permit and permanent residence applications is essential.
- Knowledge of the US work permit process.
- Well-organized and able to prioritize multiple issues.
- Sound judgment and the ability to think quickly during emergencies.
- Ability to recognize and act on opportunities using effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency in using MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe.
- Proficiency with document management systems (i.e., NetDocuments) preferred.
- Understanding of the operations of a law firm or other professional services firm.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
