Legal Assistant/Officer Services Clerk
Sullivan Festeryga LLP is presently recruiting for a legal assistant supporting a Partner of the firm in a variety of practice areas including Civil Litigation with a focus on Personal Injury matters, along with insurance litigation and accident benefits work.
In this role you will also be a member of our administration team as an Office Services Clerk to support various functions within the office environment to include being the main daily back-up support to reception and other areas as needed.
It is an asset if the successful candidate has the following skill set:
- At least 2 years' experience in a law firm environment with knowledge of the above noted practice areas.
- Duties include preparation of correspondence and legal documents, compiling documents such as Motion Records, Affidavit of Documents, and other Pleadings.
- Knowledge of Rules of Civil Procedure, legal forms & e-filing procedures is required. Familiar with Court procedures such as Provincial (Superior Court of Justice) along with knowledge of the Accident Benefits processes.
- Interaction with clients and general practice management, including billing & calendar management.
- Office Services duties to include reception coverage, office organizational assignments, back-up support to our File & Billings Clerk and other duties as assigned.
- Be a self-starter who is capable of working both independently and in a group setting. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines when necessary.
- Possess excellent oral & written skills. Possess strong organizational skills.
- Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Word, Outlook, and PC LAW would be an asset.
