Senior Billing and Accounting Clerk
Willms & Shier Environmental Lawyers LLP is Canada’s leading Environmental, Indigenous and Energy law firm. We are located in downtown Toronto.
We are seeking a Senior Billing and Accounting Clerk with 5+ years of law firm experience to join our team.
For this key role at the firm, the ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and dedicated to excellence in customer service.
Responsibilities in this role will include:
- Generating and sending pre-bills to lawyers for their review
- Preparing and finalizing invoices and sending same to clients by email or uploading to e-billing platforms
- Trouble-shooting and resolving billing issues including e-billing rejections
- Responding to various lawyer and client requests for billing/financial information
- Preparing various monthly accounting reports
- Performing bank reconciliations
- Assist with Accounts Receivable and Collections
- Provide back up and support for team members when needed

The successful candidate must have:
- Strong organizational and excellent technical skills
- Law firm accounting software experience, preferably PCLaw and Soluno
- Minimum 5 years of previous work experience in a law firm
- Exceptional proficiency in MS Office with demonstrated ability to handle advanced functions in MS Excel
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills
- Goal oriented, ambitious, driven, and eager to learn
- Strong team player with customer service mentality for both internal and external clients
