Accounting/E-Billing Clerk
Thomas Gold Pettingill LLP, a firm with expertise in commercial litigation and insurance law, is currently recruiting for a qualified, experienced accounting/e-billing clerk to join their administration team. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and professional with a basic understanding of accounting principles and a solid knowledge base for various electronic billing platforms.
The particulars of this position are as follows:
SUMMARY
Working with the office manager, accounting manager, and-billing coordinator, the qualified applicant will be responsible for all phases of client billing including: bill preparation, submission of bills via e-billing platforms, and outstanding bill collection. This is a detail-oriented position with an emphasis on time management, technical tasks, and precise attention to detail and accuracy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Processing pre-bills; submission and coordination of monthly billings for e-billing clients through various e-billing platforms;
- Administering new and existing e-billing implementations across new and existing platforms;
- Maintaining accurate client and matter information in our billing system and vendor platforms;
- Following up on rejected e-billed invoices with lawyers, legal assistants, and the client;
- Resolving issues with respect to partial payments received from clients;
Training timekeepers and legal assistants on e-billing requirements;
- Assisting with e-billing process improvements, including developing efficient ways to improve quality and customer service;
- Following up with the office manager, lawyers, and clients as required regarding overdue accounts;
- Monitoring new file openings for clients and ensuring matters are set up appropriately for e-billing;
- Assisting with various accounting functions, including processing day-to-day cheques and banking;
- Assisting with accounts payable and data entry;
- Abiding by Firm policies and handling confidential materials and documents.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Post-Secondary education in Finance & Accounting;
- Previous e-billing and/or accounting experience, preferably in a law firm environment;
- Excellent organizational; recordkeeping and time-management skills;
- Able to work successfully in a professional, service-oriented environment;
- Thorough working knowledge of accounting software i.e. PCLaw, Soluno;
- Strong computer skills including LEDES management and MS Office programs: particularly Word and Excel;
- Prior experience with TyMetrix, Serengeti, CounselLink, Bottomline, Legal-X, Legal Software Solutions or similar platforms is preferred;
- Research and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise judgment to resolve technical issues;
- Working within a team-oriented environment that encompasses all aspects of the day-to-day e-billing and collections operations;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to prioritize and juggle several tasks simultaneously.
