Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable/Trust

We are currently looking for an Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable/Trust to join our talented team!
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Manager, Client Accounting the Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable/Trust will be responsible for processing day-to-day expenses, vendor payments and daily trust cheques as requested in a timely manner while adhering to firm procedures. To meet the business needs, this position is required to be on-site 4 days per week.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepares trust cheques adhering to LSO trust regulations and Firm policies
- Codes and posts vendor invoices and expense reports ensuring approval and back up are in place
- Convert weekly files from vendors into a predefined excel format, to upload into 3E
- Processes accounts payables related to client charges
- Processes payments (cheques, EFT, wires and drafts) using accounting and banking software
- Reviews and reconciles vendor statements
- Responds to inquiries regarding payment information
- Reconciles Mastercard statements
- Manages the Rogers account
- Provides back-up for Cash Receipts and other Trust functions
- Participates in department programs and projects as required
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience to successfully complete the essential requirements of the role
- 2-3 years’ related experience, preferably in a law firm
- Experience with Elite 3E, an asset
- Strong knowledge and previous experience in trust accounting is required
- Technically savvy, with demonstrated skills using Microsoft Outlook and Word, with willingness to learn new software and applications
- Possesses solid experience working with Microsoft Excel at an intermediate level

- Is proactive and works with the team by assisting where required and shares knowledge in a clear and concise manner
- Contributes to the department by working efficiently and identifying ways to improve processes
- Ability to be flexible with regards to hours during busy periods to meet the demands of the role
