Stephen practiced law at Blaney McMurtry LLP for 40 years before retiring this past June.  He was the risk management partner for the firm for over 20 years.  In this role he was responsible for purchasing all insurance products for the firm, ensuring compliance with LSO requirements and monitoring all claims and potential claims reported to LawPro and the firm’s other insurers.

Stephen’s practice was focussed on mediation and insurance litigation including defending insureds in respect of a myriad of casualty claims, providing coverage advice particularly with respect to automobile insurance issues, providing regulatory and compliance advice to auto insurers and designing new automobile insurance products for the gig economy. 

He continues to provide risk management advice, act as a mediator and is an adjunct professor at Osgoode Hall Law School.
