Michelle is the Executive Director, Administration and Human Resources for Lerners LLP. In her role, Michelle oversees the Human Resources functions with respect to the Toronto Professionals and Legal Support Staff.  She is also responsible for the Toronto Associate/Student Programs.  This includes developing, implementing and managing the recruitment, orientation, training and professional development of the firm’s Associates and Students.  She also provides strategic leadership by articulating Human Resource needs and plans to the Executive Management Team and Partnership. 

Michelle has over 20 years of managerial experience within the private sector, leading a number of business units. She is responsible for providing leadership in developing and executing human resources strategy, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management (staff and professionals), change management, organizational and performance management, training/development, and compensation. 

In her spare time, Michelle is a Certified Yoga Instructor.  She welcomes the opportunity to guide others in the powerful healing benefits of practicing yoga. She’s even brought yoga into her Firm.  She says, the biggest reward is when the lawyers and staff tell her that they leave her office feeling better than when they came in, much like her yoga students tell her when leaving class. Michelle believes Yoga and Meditation have meshed nicely with her HR persona and have provided her with the additional tools to adapt to challenging situations off the yoga mat, to ease through times of transition and to remain grounded while on her path.
