Marva Bethune is Director of Human Resources and a senior management team member at Gowling WLG Canada, which has 7 offices across Canada and more than 1,800 firm members.  She is responsible for guiding and managing the human resources team nationally, and contributes to the firm's overall strategy by actively initiating, enhancing and building HR policies, programs and tools to attract, develop and retain talent and drive overall performance.

Marva is passionate about – and is a champion for – mental health and wellness in the workplace. As the driving force behind Gowling WLG’s mental health strategy and implementation plan, she is devoted to the elimination of stigma that clouds mental health – particularly in the legal industry. 

She has worked in law firms for over 30 years, serving in both general management and HR management roles.
