INTRODUCTION:
After completing this course you will be able to create static accessible MS Word documents.
Training includes:
- Introduction to Accessibility Principles
- Applying structure using headings, lists, links
- Making images and charts accessible
- Text formatting and colour contrast
- Creating and using accessible templates
- How to check the accessibility of your document
- Using accessibility features when exporting to PDF or other formats
- Understanding accessibility limitations of finished documents
Note: You must have MS Word 2003 or higher on your laptop.
Overview of Tagged Accessible PDF Documents
After completing this course you will be able to create basic tagged PDF documents in Adobe Acrobat.
Training includes:
Review of Accessibility Principles
- Understanding the importance of a structured, accessible source document
- Understanding Adobe PDF Accessibility tools
- Creating a tagged PDF
- Adding structure and semantic meaning to the PDF using headings, lists and links
- Images and alt-text
- Setting a logical reading order
- Using Bookmarks
- Creating and tagging simple data tables
- Setting document properties for document language and title
- How to check the accessibility of your document
- Understanding accessibility limitations and pitfalls
Note: You must have Adobe Acrobat Professional on your laptop and you must have completed the Introduction to Accessible Word Documents training course.
