Phil Brown

Phil is the Director of Practice Supports and Resources at the Law Society of Ontario. He previously served as Senior Counsel. Phil attended Dalhousie University and practiced criminal law as a sole practitioner for many years. In his current role, he oversees the Practice Management Helpline, which handles +12,000 calls annually from lawyers and paralegals. His team is also responsible for maintaining 300 resources designed to assist legal professionals in their practice.
Phil developed a popular series of technology podcasts with David Whelan and is a frequent speaker on ethics and professionalism. He has a particular interest in the intersection of technology, AI and the impact on the future practice of law.
