Human Resources/Office Manager

We are looking for an HR/Office Manager with law firm experience to join our team, working with and reporting to the Chief Operating Officer. This role will be pivotal in leading and supporting the office while developing a positive work environment.
The position will be primarily in the office, with some work from home flexibility.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- HR duties related to non-professional staff including supervision, recruitment, onboarding & offboarding, training, attendance management, employee engagement, compliance with the ESA
- Developing and communicating HR and Office policies and procedures to promote an efficient and positive work environment
- Engaging and supporting a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and development
- Planning and executing firm activities and social events
- Overall office management, ensuring the efficient and smooth operation of the office, including overseeing facilities and equipment, coordinating office maintenance and repairs and ensuring meetings and events are well organized
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Proven HR experience including supervision, onboarding & offboarding, training, employee engagement and compliance with the ESA
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and best practices
- Demonstrated enthusiasm, strategic leadership, coaching, facilitation, and relationship management skills
- Office management experience
- Joint Health & Safety Committee training would be an asset
- Experience with MS Office is essential. Other software training will be provided
