Our Speakers:
Sargent Stuart Bertram is the Coordinator of the Integrated Community Liaison program at the Integrated Security Unit. He has been with the Ontario Provincial Police for over 20 years. Prior to his assignment to the ISU he was in charge of the West PLT unit that deals with First Nations Issues, Strikes and Protests. Sgt Bertram is a graduate of U of T and prior to being a police officer use to work at the Toronto Star.
Constable Craig Brister from Toronto Police Service is currently in his 16th year with the Toronto Police Service. In that time he has spent a large portion of his career working in Divisional Policing. He has worked as a Divisional investigator and spent time with the Toronto Police Homicide Squad. Prior to coming to the PanAm planning team he was at 32 Division in the Community Response Unit working to foster better relations within our communities. Doug Spooner has spent his entire life competing, volunteering and working in Sport. Doug began his work on Multi-Sport Games by completing of a Master’s of Political Science degree from the University of Waterloo, with a focus on the integration of Organizing Committees, Governments and Security Agencies. Following a professional hockey career, he has also held planning and operational roles with the Sarnia 2011/Kingston 2013 ParaSport Ontario Summer Games and the Toronto 2012 Ontario Summer Games. Doug dedicates his time to improving his community with volunteer roles with Toronto Sport Council’s Sport Hosting Strategy Committee, and on the Board of Directors of For Youth Initiative, a Toronto youth-serving not for profit. Capitalizing on this passion for Sport, Doug is currently working with the Organizing Committee for the Toronto 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am American Games Organizing Committee as Senior Manager, Transportation Partner Integration and Planning. In this role he is responsible for proving up to date planning information to Transportation planning partners and engaging with Greater Golden Horseshoe Resident and Business.
