Salary: Between CAD$35.30 – CAD$37.00 (based on experience) for 35 hours per week. The salary will be subject to regular review based on annual performance.

Job Description:
Our firm has an opening for a Law Clerk in our Real Estate Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing both administrative support and completing file transaction work for a dedicated team of lawyers within our Real Estate department. This successful candidate must be able to come into the office up to 5 days per week and must be flexible to work varying hours to meet the needs of the lawyers and clients.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Draft and amend legal documentation and correspondence through general instruction, standard format or dictation including but not limited to, closing documents and summarizing title and/or Off-title searches;
- Draft various documents in Teraview or Lawyer Done Deal;
Conduct title and off—title searches, and land searches via Teraview;
- Manage all administrative tasks as required (email and calendar management, arranging meetings, etc.);
- Maintain lawyer files/records system;
- Communicate with clients and third parties;
- Provide backup coverage for others;
- Open and close files, enter dockets, complete monthly billing, and update internal databases, as specifically directed by lawyer; and
- Assist as required with a variety of commercial real estate and bank financing matters.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree or a college diploma in law;
- 1-3 years of experience as a Real Estate Legal Assistant and/or Law Clerk from a law firm or other legal establishment;
- Strong technical skills using Microsoft Office (Word LX, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and Calendar), Teraview, and DocuSign;
- Proficiency in various Law Firm software (specific experience in Aderant, Expert Time, NetDocuments, Kofax Power PDF will be considered an asset);
- Must have a solid understanding of business and legal terminology;
- Must have exceptional interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism and discretion, with the ability to communicate in a professional manner with a wide range of both external and internal clients;
- Must have strong attention to detail with exceptional proofreading abilities; and
- Must be effective when working independently with little supervisor, and also be able to contribute and collaborate as part of the team.

- Frequently required to maintain focus to carry out work and remain optimistic under pressure.
- Regular high attention and concentration required in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
- Regular interruption, meeting deadlines and high demand for detailed accuracy on the job.
Physical Effort:
- Moderate to considerable physical activity, including but not limited to:
- Frequently operate small office equipment such as a computer, tablet, and copier/printer, telephone.
- Frequently requires manual dexterity speed and hand/eye coordination for work at a computer.
- Frequently standing or walking for extended periods, climbing ladders, bending and squatting.
- Sometimes required to lift items up to 40 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a professional office environment.
- This position requires work to be done in person and on site up to 5 days per week.
