Until recently, a commonly held understanding was that only “bad” people are prejudiced so many of our diversity efforts focused on identifying these individuals and changing their beliefs. However, evidence from Harvard University, among others, now reveals that we all inadvertently make assumptions and decisions that impact some groups more adversely than others. Thus it is important for leaders to be aware of unconsciously held beliefs and how these biases might impact their decision making on a day to day basis.

In this interactive keynote, we will:

• Understand and describe Unconscious Bias
• Develop an internal awareness of how Unconscious Bias is created
• Discuss the impact of Bias within organizations
• Discuss concrete opportunities to minimize Bias
